MCLEAN, VA —Stephen Labaton, president of Finsbury North America, is stepping down from the role to join Booz Allen Hamilton as its executive VP of corporate affairs. In the newly created position, Labaton will oversee Booz Allen’s corporate affairs, including marketing and communications, media relations, government relations and corporate social responsibility functions. Before joining Finsbury, Labaton spent more than 20 years as a New York Times reporter, most recently as a senior writer in the Washington Bureau.

VENICE, CA — Bird, a shared electric scooter company, has named Rebecca Hahn senior VP of communications. Hahn was most recently a partner at The OutCast Agency. She is charged with designing and overseeing the company’s communications and marketing strategy.

NEW YORK — Vanita Gowda has joined Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health as chief communications officer.  Gowda has worked with a number of organizations including Women Deliver, APCO Worldwide and the International AIDS Vaccine Initiative. Most recently, Gowda provided strategic counsel and tactical execution services to public and private sector clients including the World Health Organization, Pathfinder and EngenderHealth.
