NEW YORK—The Guardian Life Insurance Company of America, one of the nation’s largest mutual life insurers and a leading provider of employee benefits, has named Sherry Pudloski as chief communications officer, reporting to Deanna Mulligan, president and chief executive officer. Pudloski will be responsible for Guardian’s brand management, as well as internal, external and digital communications. Pudloski joins Guardian from Pfizer, where she was the head of reputation, policy, and enterprise communications. She also worked at Novartis Pharmaceuticals and Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide.

NEW YORK—John Lampl, a 40-year veteran of the international airline industry, has been appointed vice president corporate communications for international air carrier Baltia Air Lines, which is currently undergoing restructuring. Following his active service in the US Army, Lampl worked in the public relations department at American Express Co. before joining British Airways, where he spent more than 40 years, most recently as vice president, corporate communications, for the Americas.

WASHINGTON, DC—Airlines for America has named Todd Burke as senior vice president, communications. Burke joins A4A after more than 25 years in the airline industry, holding senior operations and communications roles with TWA, American Airlines and JetBlue Airways. In his new role, he will develop and oversee a strategic communications plan that supports the mission and key objectives of A4A and its member airlines and will direct the association’s digital and media relations, crisis communications, branding and advertising programs.
