SALT LAKE CITY—The First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has appointed Richard Turley Jr. as the new managing director of the Church’s public affairs department. Turley replaces Michael Otterson, who had served as the managing director for the past eight years. Turley is currently serving as assistant Church historian and recorder for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Most recently he served as director of marketing at Four32C, an independent digital design studio in New York. Prior to that, he was director of global public relations and communications at Nurun, a digital design consultancy that was acquired by Publicis Groupe in 2014.
