NEW YORK — Mariana Agathoklis (pictured) has been named VP of corporate communications at Verizon Communications. She will lead strategy and implementation of external communications and be a key part of the leadership team on issues and initiatives affecting the company. Agathoklis was most recently VP of communications at MTV, where she led a New York/LA-based communications team. She reports to Jim CCO Gerace.

SAN JOSE — Polycom has tapped Jim Cullinan, a 25-year industry vet, to be its first global leader of buzz and brand. Cullinan, who has held senior communications at Microsoft, Yahoo and Clear Channel, will be responsible for Polycom’s global external communications and brand strategy. He will lead a combined brand and communications team, taking an integrated approach to connecting Polycom’s brand and products to customers, partners, industry influencers and employees.

LOS ANGELES — Jack Pan, a longtime entertainment-focused marketer, has been named president of worldwide theatrical marketing for Global Road Entertainment – part of the company’s push to become an integrated global content studio. Pan will be responsible for overseeing and Pan will be responsible for overseeing and implementing marketing strategies for all theatrical film titles distributed by Global Road across the US and in China, as well as guiding all international partners on their marketing plans. Pan’s experience includes serving as president of motion picture marketing for STX Entertainment and EVP of worldwide theatrical marketing at Summit Entertainment.

SANTA CLARA, CA — In an effort to bolster the brand, cyber security company Centrify has expanded its marketing team with two senior hires. Karen Reynolds joins as the company’s VP of corporate communications, in which role she will oversee worldwide public, analyst and influencer relations, executive communications, product communications, speaking programs and social media. She most recently served as head of corporate communications at BMC. Andy Smith joins as VP of product marketing. He comes from Oracle, where he oversaw the company’s global identify and security business unit.
