CHAPEL HILL, NC—Joel Curran (pictured), managing director of the New York office for MSLGroup and an alumnus of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill has been named the school's first vice chancellor for communications and public affairs. Curran, who has also held senior positions at CKPR and the Walt Disney Company, will be the University’s senior public relations leader and will manage the overall efforts to help promote Carolina’s mission with key audiences.

WASHINGTON, DC—Dana Davis Rehm has joined the American Geophysical Union as the organization’s director of marketing, communications and engagement. For the past 12 years, Rehm served in leadership roles at NPR (National Public Radio), most recently as senior vice president of marketing, communications and external relations. In his new role, he will work across AGU’s content and product groups and collaborate with members and partners to lead the creation and execution of integrated marketing and content strategies.

CHICAGO—Tribune Company has appointed Christa Robinson, formerly CNN Worldwide's senior communications executive, as chief communications officer, reporting to president and chief executive officer Peter Liguori. Robinson has worked with CNN since 1999, and led communications and public relations for all CNN Networks and digital platforms. Before CNN, she served at the Clinton White House, where she was director of communications for the Domestic Policy Council.

NEW YORK—Michael Feeney has been promoted to executive vice president of corporate communications at A+E Networks. He will oversee all global communications and marketing along with philanthropic and community outreach initiatives. Feeney had previously served as senior VP since 2006 and has been with the company since 2001, when he joined as director of publicity and public affairs for the History Channel. He has also worked at NBC News and NBC Entertainment.
