ATLANTA—Deisha Barnett is departing her role as senior director of corporate communications at Walmart to take up a new role as senior vice president of marketing and communications for the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce, working with former Arby’s CEO, Hala Moddelmog. Barnett spent close to 10 years at the Arkansas-based retailer, having previously held roles at Earthlink and Ketchum.

NEW YORK—Comcast Cable and NBCUniversal have named Kathy Kelly-Brown as senior vice president, strategic initiatives, responsible for identifying creative, technological and strategic opportunities across the entire portfolio of both Comcast and NBCUniversal. Most recently, Kelly-Brown served as senior vice president of global talent booking, and earlier she held several communications positions across NBCUniversal, including senior vice president, communications, NBCUniversal News Group.


NEW YORK—AMC Networks has named Georgia Juvelis and Jim Maiella as senior vice presidents and co-heads of corporate communications, replacing Ellen Kroner, who will retire at year end. Juvelis joined AMC Networks in 2008, having previously worked with media and entertainment companies including Gemstar-TV Guide, Hearst Communications, PBS and Discovery Communications. Maiella joined AMC in 2013 after more than a decade at its sister company, the former Cablevision Systems Corporation.

MEMPHIS, TN—EdR, one of the nation's largest developers, owners and managers of collegiate housing communities, has hired Dawn Ray as vice president of corporate communications and marketing. Ray joins the company from Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare in Memphis where she was director of strategic and executive communications. Earlier, she held corporate communications and public relations positions at Hilton Worldwide.
