NEW YORK—Flavie Lemarchand-Wood has joined as vice president, communications. She will oversee all internal and external communications for the brand, a pioneer in e-commerce and leader in online travel. Most recently, Lemarchand-Wood served as vice president, deputy communications director at Nielsen. Where she led communications for Nielsen’s television and audio businesses and was responsible for the measurement company’s cross-platform communications. Prior to Nielsen, she was responsible for Vivendi’s communications in North America and managed the group’s strategic communications during the creation of Activision Blizzard and the formation and eventual divestiture of NBCUniversal.

HOUSTON—Food service giant Sysco Corporation has hired Nehl Horton as senior vice president, chief communications and government relations officer, responsible for communications with key stakeholders groups, both internal and external. Sysco's corporate communications, government relations, community affairs and corporate giving functions will report to him. Horton joins Sysco after serving as chief public affairs and communications officer of MillerCoors/Miller Brewing Company, since 2005. Before then, he led global media relations at Novartis, and worked with Pfizer and The Coca-Cola Company.

WASHINGTON , DC—The Veterans Benefits Administration has named retired Army Brigadier General Lew Boone as director of corporate communications. Boone previously served as director of the Army Disability Agency and was also public affairs director for the International Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan. Prior to becoming a public affairs officer, he served in a number of duty positions as an Infantryman.
