MCLEAN, VA— Hilton has hired Craig Dezern as vice president of a newly created brand communications team. In his role, Dezern will lead global communications across Hilton's 14 brands as well as for the Hilton Honors loyalty program. Prior to joining Hilton, Dezern spent more than 20 years as a communications leader at the Walt Disney Company. Most recently, he led a team of more than 100 professionals driving earned, owned, social and promotional media campaigns for Walt Disney Parks & Resorts. Before joining Disney, he was a journalist for The Orlando Sentinel.

Goldstein has been a senior vice president at BP Global Solutions, a consulting firm in New York City, since 2012. His recent work includes serving as a senior advisor to Winning Algorithms, a data science start-up. He has led communications, branding, and social media efforts at several large private sector companies, including as senior vice president and chief communications officer at AllianceBernstein; executive vice president and chief communications officer at TIAA-CREF; and vice president, corporate communications at Dow Jones & Company.
SEATTLE—Alaska Airlines has named Diana Birkett Rakow vice president of external relations, leading the airline's government affairs, corporate communications and community relations teams in Alaska, Hawaii, San Francisco and Seattle. Birkett Rakow recently served as vice president of public affairs, communications and brand management at Kaiser Permanente of Washington through its acquisition of Group Health Cooperative.
PHOENIX—Insys Therapeutics has hired Joe McGrath as the company’s senior director of corporate communications, responsible for internal and external communications including media relations, reputation management, and corporate brand development. McGrath joins Insys after nearly 16 years in public relations and corporate communications at Medtronic, where he served in a succession of functional roles for the neurological and cardiovascular divisions. The firm also retained Alpha IR Group as its investor relations agency of record.
