LONDON — Epson has selected technology PR specialist Wildfire as its B2B and consumer agency of record for UK and Ireland after a competitive pitch.

As well as promoting the company’s inkjet printers, projectors and scanners, Wildfire’s brief is to highlight Epson’s sustainability credentials and environmentally-friendly innovations, such as Ecotank cartridge-less printing and PaperLab, which allows larger companies and organisations to securely recycle used paper.

The previous incumbent was fellow B2B tech agency Berkeley. The firm, which has annual sales of $10 billion, has also worked with Kaizo, Frank, Red and Weber Shandwick.

Epson UK’s PR & social media manager Charlie de la Haye said: “Wildfire ticked all the boxes in being able to elevate our thought leadership for a business audience, in addition to bringing proven experience in consumer electronics. But what really set Wildfire apart is that the team wholly embraced our company ethos and presented a creative approach to bringing Epson environmental values to life to reach new and existing audiences.”

Wildfire client services director Louise Palmer added: “For businesses and consumers alike, making environmentally-conscious buying decisions has rapidly grown in importance over recent years. Through our campaign, we plan to win the hearts and minds of potential customers by putting Epson’s sustainability stories at the forefront of our communications.”

The agency, which went through a management buy-out in in May, also recently added consumer engagement giant Emarsys to its client portfolio.
