LONDON — Cybersecurity and DevOps services specialist RiverSafe has appointed Centropy PR to manage its external communications, after a competitive pitch.

Founded in 2010 by cybersecurity experts Suid Adeyanju (pictured, left) and Oseloka Obiora (right) – both of whom are vocal advocates for more diversity in the industry – RiverSafe has seen a surge in demand for services, with revenue increasing 395% in the last five years. The company, which is based in London, has added to its headcount by 171% over the same period, with plans for a further increase of 20% over the next three years.

The company’s growth plans come as high-profile incidents of hacking, phishing, and ransomware attacks on private and public sector organisations are on the increase. Obiora, the company’s chief technology officer, recently addressed the UK Parliament, warning MPs and industry leaders about the growing threat posed by the increasing volume of sophisticated cyber attacks.

Centropy will lead RiverSafe’s communications programme, including thought leadership, strategic counsel, media relations and content creation.

RiverSafe head of marketing Amber Williams said: “Centropy is a proactive, results-driven PR agency with outstanding media connections. We’re very excited to be working with them during such an exciting time for our business.”

Centropy PR founder Steven George-Hilley added: “RiverSafe is fast becoming a major player in the cyber industry, equipping customers with unrivalled security capabilities in an increasingly dangerous world. The launch of the DevOps practice enables businesses to develop and adapt critical software and operations to bring services to market quicker while putting security at the heart of every process.

“The company has a cast iron commitment to driving diversity and spreading opportunity and we are very proud to support them in taking this important message to market.”
