WASHINGTON — Former Direct Impact president Drew O’Brien has joined Washington firm Seven Letter as a partner.
O’Brien will develop business across the firm’s numerous practices, lead client engagements and grow relationships with global corporate brands.
He most recently led BCW’s Northeast Region and served as president of Direct Impact, the agency’s community-focused public affairs and advocacy firm. Direct Impact chief operating officer Amy Cloessner was named O’Brien’s successor in July.
Before joining the private sector in 2016, O’Brien served as then-Secretary of State John Kerry’s special representative for global partnerships.
“As far as strategic communications advisors go, there is no one better than Drew O’Brien,” said founding partner and CEO Erik Smith. “Drew’s background in the private and public sectors, and his intimate knowledge of the integral elements of communications and advocacy strategy make him a tremendous asset to both the clients with whom we partner and our internal team. Many of us have known Drew for decades and now we are thrilled to welcome him as a teammate and colleague.”
