SHANGHAI — Edelman has named a new global technology chair as Sanjay Nair steps down after almost two decades with the world's biggest PR firm.

Justin Westcott becomes global tech chair, based in London, where he was previously EMEA technology head. Westcott has spent 17 years with Edelman.

Nair, meanwhile, has decided to leave Edelman at the end of February, after becoming the first Asian to hold a global chair role at the agency, in 2017. Nair held several senior roles during his Edelman career — in Singapore, Beijing, San Francisco and Shanghai.

After serving as Asia tech head in Singapore and HP regional client head and COO for Edelman China, Nair became president of Edelman's US Western region in 2020, before returning to Shanghai. Nair will now relocate to Singapore.

“Justin, a 17-year veteran of Edelman, has served in a variety of leadership roles in multiple markets, including head of technology for EMEA and COO of the UK," said Kirsty Graham, Edelman's global president of practice and sectors. "His global experience and deep sector expertise will help take the firm's tech offering to the next level."

Edelman's tech practice includes more than 700 specialists across the globe.
