LONDON — Edelman has made a number of senior hires and promotions to strengthen its health team across EMEA in response to increased client demand.

Nicola Scocchi, a director in Edelman’s Brussels office, has been appointed as head of health policy for the EMEA region. Since he joined Edelman in 2019 from FTI, Scocchi has more than doubled the size of the Brussels health team, which he will continue to lead, including work for Novartis, Sanofi and Bayer AG.

Vicky Bramham re-joins Edelman health in the UK from Open Health (formerly Reynolds-MacKenzie) where she spent two-and-a-half years as managing director after her first stint at Edelman from 2016 to 2018. Bramham now joins the senior health leadership team and will assume responsibility for client services.

In Germany, Nils Giese has joined as managing director of healthcare from Saatchi & Saatchi, where he was head of strategy, working with clients including Sanofi, Merck, GSK, and Boehringer Ingelheim.

And in Spain, Alvaro Mateo joins Edelman in Madrid as a director of health, having worked for other agencies in Spain, including Ogilvy and Weber Shandwick, as well as most recently in-house at PharmaMar.

Edelman’s EMEA chair of health Carolyn Paul said: “The last year has been a record-breaking one for Edelman Health. We experienced double-digit growth in the region and health is now the largest sector within Edelman globally. These senior hires will enable us to extend that trajectory and more importantly, continue to bring innovative, award-winning ideas to our clients and to build trust in healthcare as we emerge from the pandemic, across our region”.
