NEW YORK—Elliot Sloane, who built and sold financial and crisis communications specialist Sloane & Company and most recently spent 18 months as senior managing director at FTI, has joined New York communications boutique RooneyPartners as senior advisor to formalize and expand the firm’s expertise in transaction services, shareholder engagement and activism, and crisis management.

RooneyPartners, a finalist for the Holmes Report’s Financial Agency of the Year award in 2018, is known for its strength in corporate and financial media relations, and also offers social and digital strategy and marketing programs, and a suite of creative services including content strategy and graphic design. It recently added a medical communications practice.

Sloane brings more than 35 years of communications strategy and leadership experience, including more than 18 years at Sloane & Company, which he sold to MDC Partners in 2010, and at FTI’s strategic communications segment, where worked financial communications, crisis and corporate reputation engagements.
