STOCKHOLM — Corporate communications consultancy Diplomat Group has acquired 40-strong digital comms agency Strateg, based in Örebro. The acquisition brings Diplomat’s team to more than 40 employees and increases annual turnover from SEK 90 million to SEK 140 million, making it one of Sweden’s largest marketing agencies. Strateg CEO Fredrik Vannestål joins the Diplomat board.

DUBLIN — Specialist healthcare comms agency Kyne has become a lead investor in Medit, a medical education platform that uses artificial intelligence. As part of the agreement, Medit co-founder Julie O’Donnell will lead Kyne’s digital strategy and oversee expanding digital resources as the firm’s new global head of digital, across its offices in Dublin, New York and Los Angeles. O’Donnell’s experience in health-focused digital and marketing strategy includes senior roles with Publicis D and pharmaceutical company Lundbeck.

LONDON — Ketchum London CEO Jo-Ann Robertson has been named as the new chair of Young Women’s Trust, a UK charity that helps supports young women from disadvantaged backgrounds on low or no pay. Robertson will head a board of 12 trustees, and takes over from Deborah Mattinson, the founder and director of polling and strategy consultancy Britain Thinks.

LONDON — Sky has appointed PR and social media agency 33Seconds as its retained social media partner following a competitive pitch. The agency will develop and implement social campaigns and content creation for Sky Entertainment, Sky Product and Sky Kids, and will drive awareness and engagement around new Sky shows.

LEATHERHEAD, UK — Andrew Wilkie (pictured) has joined integrated marketing agency Touch, which also has offices in Milton Keynes, UK and US offices in Indianapolis and New Jersey, as global creative and engagement director. Wilkie, who joins the Touch board, was MD of Saatchi & Saatchi’s global content division GUM and has also run his own communications consultancies.

LONDON — Milk & Honey PR has been appointed by innovative footwear brand Butterfly Twists after a competitive pitch. The company, known for producing the folding ballerina shoe, has briefed Milk & Honey to build brand recognition, showcase its spring/summer collection and connect the brand with target consumers via media and influencer relations. The agency team will be led by managing partner Kirsty Leighton.

BARCELONA — Multinational betting, poker, games and casino company Bwin Interactive Entertainment (part of the GVC Group, which also includes Ladbrokes and Sportingbet) has hired &Rosàs to lead advertising and sponsorship in Spain. The brief includes leveraging Bwin’s sponsorship of Spanish football clubs including Atlético de Madrid, Valencia and Sevilla. &Rosàs will work with London-based BBH, which lead Bwin’s global advertising and communications account.

LONDON — Technology boutique Jargon PR has been reappointed for the third year running by the NewCo London festival, which invites innovative companies to open their doors to executives, entrepreneurs, investors and influencers. Jargon will plan and implement a media campaign around the event to drive coverage and attendance. This year, more than 40 companies are taking part in the event.
