LONDON—Grayling has been appointed by National Grid to support the community relations activities on its infrastructure projects across England for the coming two years. The community relations BRIEF supports a wide range of projects including building connections to the grid for new sources of low carbon energy, replacing old equipment at the end of its life and remediating contaminated former gas works sites. Six Grayling teams in the North, South, East, West, London and Wales will work with National Grid's project teams across the country to engage with all key communities and stakeholders affected by their work.

FARNHAM—Whiteoaks, a UK-based technology PR consultancy, has promoted Hayley Goff to its board of directors. In her new role, Goff will primarily focus on client services, drawing on her extensive experience at Whiteoaks, coordinating large scale pan-European programmes for a range of high-tech companies. Goff joined Whiteoaks in 2004 as project manager and most recently was associate director.

LONDON—Liberty Comms, a specialist technology communications consultancy, has been appointed to support Coriant, a global supplier of optical transport solutions.  Liberty will be working with Coriant across multiple markets including the UK, United States and Germany—in collaboration with its local partner agency Maisberger—to grow brand recognition and increase the company’s footprint worldwide.

SAUDI ARABIA—Memac Ogilvy Public Relations has appointed Raed Gerges (pictured) as head of PR services in Saudi Arabia. Prior to joining Memac Ogilvy, Gerges was managing director at Quintet & Oryx Gulf Media, a communication and media consulting company. He also worked with Red Bull as director of communications for the MENA and Southeast Asia.

LONDON—Event company Media 10 Limited has appointed Publicasity to handle the PR for its forthcoming Grand Designs Live Show which takes place at the NEC in Birmingham on the 4-6th of October. The campaign is designed to drive visitors and consumer awareness of this iconic show in the interiors annual calendar.

GOODWOOD—Rolls-Royce Motor Cars has hired James Warren as product and corporate communications manager for the United Kingdom, a newly created role. He will report directly to Richard Carter, director of global communications.

LONDON—Ballou PR has signed online payments company Stripe and mobile point-of-sales business SumUp in the UK bolstering its financial technology division. The team, led by UK managing director Cordy Griffiths, will build brand awareness and thought leadership profiles for both companies in the UK market. The firm also recently opened a Berlin office to service the tech community there.
