LONDON — Edelman has launched a new policy to support women going through the menopause, to open up conversation, attitudes and perceptions and create an inclusive environment for women, a quarter of whom experience severely debilitating symptoms, with a significant impact on their comfort and performance at work. Edelman UK & Ireland will offer an additional 10 paid “time-out days” for women going through the menopause.

LONDON — Built environment communications specialist BECG has acquired Scottish public affairs and planning communications consultancy, Liberty One Communications (L1), to spearhead its expansion plans into the Scottish market. The acquisition provides BECG with a presence across Scotland through L1’s offices in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Aberdeen, and a client base across the property, energy, infrastructure, renewables and waste management sectors. L1’s founder and MD, Steven Park, will continue in his role. The acquisition is BECG’s third in the past six months, following government relations consultancy Cavendish Advocacy in July 2020 and software developer, Crowd Technologies Ltd, owner of social media management platform Crowd Control HQ, in January this year.

LONDON — Women in PR, the UK’s membership organisation for senior women in PR and communications, has appointed Anna Geffert (pictured), the MD of Hera Communications, as the new president. She replaces Bibi Hilton, who has led the organisation for the past three years. Ngozi Emeagi, senior consultant at Powerscourt, was announced as vice president and Addy Frederick, group communications manager at Prudential, as treasurer.
