LONDON—Anji Hunter, a veteran of senior communications positions at Anglo-American and BP, has been appointed senior advisor at Edelman. Hunter will work with Ed Williams, UK CEO, and Alex Bigg, general manager, to provide senior counsel to clients across the business. She joins Edelman following the launch of the Queen Elizabeth Prize for Engineering which she established under the support of Lord Browne of Madingley and Sir John Parker. Previously she was group head of government and social affairs at Anglo American and group director of communications at BP. She also worked for Prime Minister Tony Blair from 1987 to 2002, in opposition and government.

LONDON—Fishburn Hedges chief executive Fiona Thorne (pictured) has decided to leave the agency in the autumn.  She has not yet made public her future plans. Simon Matthews, Fishburn Hedges Group CEO, will reassume responsibility for the running of the main Fishburn Hedges agency in addition to his group role which includes oversight of the 77 and Further businesses.

LONDON—College Hill, part of international business communications consultancy College Group, has been appointed by Brown Shipley, the UK private bank, to provide strategic communications consultancy on a retained basis. The firm has also been appointed by MJ Gleeson Group, the urban housing regeneration specialist, to provide strategic communications consultancy focused on the company’s key investor and media audiences.
