LONDON — M&C Saatchi has released its preliminary 2017 results. UK revenues across the network were up 6%, with PR, Sport & Entertainment, and Mobile performing particularly well. European revenues were up 26% and operating profit increased 30%. In the Middle East and Africa, revenues were up 26% and operating profit was up 45%. In Asia and Australia, revenues were up 23%, with operating profit up 37%. In the Americas, revenues were down 3% following a second half slowdown in New York advertising revenues and operating profit was down 53%.

LONDON — FleishmanHillard Fishburn has hired three senior PR practitioners as directors of its 30-strong consumer and brand team. Sherawaye Hagger, formerly of Ogilvy, will head up luxury and food and drinks clients, Pip Solway, who joins from Edelman, will focus on consumer tech, and Emma Padden, formerly of M&C Saatchi PR, heads up the consumer health offer. The agency’s consumer brand roster includes Samsung, Crocs, Johnson & Johnson, Singapore Airlines, Western Union, Bose and FitBit.

LONDON — Weber Shandwick has promoted four senior women to leadership positions in its UK health and consumer marketing businesses (pictured). Health MD Lucie Harper is now chair of the practice and Lisa Henry has been promoted to MD after two years as deputy managing director. Emma Thompson, who has been London MD of consumer marketing since 2016, becomes chair of the practice, and her deputy MD Kate Sarginson is promoted to managing director.

LONDON — Two former TVC Group directors, Michael Semp and Annette Harada have joined content house Sassy Films as its new director of content communications and head of content communications and strategy respectively. Semp was previously TVC’s director of production and operations and joins Sassy as a partner. Harada was TVC’s director of Global Client Services. Sassy’s client list includes INFINITI, easyJet, Vodafone, Disney, Jaguar Land Rover, Channel 4, Paramount Films, Sony, Carphone Warehouse and SodaStream.

MILAN — Italian-headquartered household appliances maker Hoover Candy Group has consolidated its UK agency roster after new UK head of brand and communications Antony Peart joined in September last year. Integrated communications agency One, which has been working with Hoover Candy for a decade, will provide PR and social media services across the group in the UK.

LONDON — FTI Consulting has appointed senior Financial Times journalist Andrew Ward as managing director of its life science and healthcare practice. Ward, who will join the consultancy in June, has been at the FT for 18 years, including as pharma correspondent, and energy editor.

LONDON — Food company Danone has appointed Golin to lead social strategy and content creation for its Volvic and Evian brands following a competitive pitch. The agency will deliver social and content strategies for Volvic’s Find Your Volcano campaign and Evian’s sponsorship of the 2018 Wimbledon tennis championships.

MUNICH — Loesch Hund Liepold Kommunikation has added two senior consultants to its corporate communications division. Sabina Blomann comes from F&H Public Relations, most recently as head of corporate communications. Prior to that, she looked atfter client HP at Porter Novelli in Munich. Johanna Wagner joins from fashion label Marc O'Polo, where she was PR and communications manager.

NOKIA, FINLAND — Nokian Tyres has appointed a new VP of investor relations and corporate communications, Päivi Antola. She will join the Finnish tyre maker in June this year from Amer Sports Corporation, where she has been head of corporate communications and investor relations for the past eight years.

LONDON — Milk & Honey PR has appointed Kirsty Reid, Comic Relief’s former national media manager, as client director to lead its consumer offering. Reporting to managing partner Kirsty Leighton, Reid is tasked with developing the agency’s portfolio among consumer, not-for-profit and CSR-led brands and will head up recent wins including Lotto Social and Big Youth Group.

MAIDENHEAD, UK — England Hockey, whose GB women’s hockey team won gold in Rio 2016, has appointed sports and fitness specialist Promote PR to support this summer’s Vitality Hockey Women’s World Cup in the UK. The agency’s brief is to run an integrated communications campaign that will increase visibility and enhance perceptions of the sport.

LONDON — Dacia has appointed Eulogy on a consumer PR brief to build brand awareness in the UK. Eulogy will be the lead PR partner of a series of campaigns including the launch of the newest Dacia Duster. Eulogy has worked on campaigns for the Clio and Twingo models made by the carmaker's parent Renault in recent years.

BROMSGROVE, UK — Full service agency Superdream has restructured its leadership team. MD Jason Manning is now CEO, and UK director Fran Nolan is now managing director. Manning will focus on the agency’s growth, overseeing its Australian office and continued international expansion. Nolan will be responsible for the agency’s UK client base.
