LONDON — Qatar Airways has appointed Engage by Bell Pottinger as its consumer and corporate communications agency for the UK market. The retained brief includes developing and delivering a range of creative campaigns for the airline, which currently flies from Heathrow, Birmingham, Manchester and Edinburgh, as well as managing the press office. The account is overseen by Charlie Hampton, a partner at Engage by Bell Pottinger with 20 years of aviation and travel experience, and led by Philip Pank, former transport correspondent of The Times newspaper.

BRUSSELS — Pablo Asbo, an EU competition expert with more than 15 years of experience has joins APCO Worldwide as a director in the firm's Brussels office, as part of the consultancy's growing global competition practice. Before joining APCO, Asbo was a director in the competition team at Cabinet DN, a Brussels-based consultancy.

LONDON — Beattie has appointed its veteran London bureau chief Jacquie Boyd-Coleman as managing director of its offices in London, Essex and Cornwall. Boyd-Coleman, who has been with Beattie for 15 years, will the company's first MD for the area. Boyd-Coleman will focus on developing Beattie's operations in the south east and south west of the UK with a team of 40 PR, digital and creative specialists. Beattie has added £1m in new fees over the last eight months and aims to replicate that financial performance across London, Essex and Cornwall.

LONDON — Italian luxury lifestyle brand La Perla has appointed London based marketing agency Threepipe to manage its global display advertising program. Threepipe will run programmatic display prospecting and retargeting strategies to drive further UK and international growth for the fashion brand, who in recently years has expanded into sleepwear, beachwear, loungewear and menswear. 

BRUSSELS — The European Business Summit will host CSR Europe's Sustainable Development Goals Conference, the Value for Europe, at the Egmont Palace in Brussels on May 22, 2017.
