LONDON — British cyber safety company Safe ToNet has appointed Firefly Communications and media relations agency PLMR to handle proactive media and government relations in the UK. Following a competitive pitch process, Safe ToNet appointed Firefly and PLMR to launch its upcoming app offerings while raising awareness around online safeguarding for UK families. The agencies will provide a blend of media relations, stakeholder engagement and content creation. Safe ToNet is privately funded and focuses on the real time blocking of harmful messages and content at the social level. 

LONDON — British gourmet chocolate company Green & Black's has appointed Golin to lead their consumer PR business. Golin's remit includes responsibility for the consumer press office, as well as wider brand campaign activations. The firm obtains the position after incumbent firm Edelman. The brand is known for its ethically sourced, premium chocolate and was the first 70% dark chocolate bar in the UK. 

BRUSSELS — Pablo Asbo has joined APCO Worlwide as director of the firm's Brussels office. He is an EU competition expert with over 15 years experience and will be part of the consultancy's growing global competition practice, which is co-led by executive director Richard Bullard. Before joining APCO, Asbo was a director in the competition team at Cabinet DN, a Brussels based consultancy. Prior to that, he spent over four years as director of the competition practice at Avisa Partners, where he provided strategic advice to companies on mergers and acquisitions, antitrust and cartel investigations from a public affairs and regulatory perspective. Before that, he served for nearly six years as a legal advisor to the directorate-general for competition at the European Commission working in antitrust investigations and at the Merger Network. 

LONDON — English Apples & Pears has appointed Richmond Towers Communications to put British apples at the top of the nation's shopping lists. The decision follows a competitive five way pitch and is a six figure campaign that will start this summer to coincide with the domestic apple season. The campaign aims to inspire retailed to stock more UK grown apples and to put Bramley cooking apples back on dinner tables.

LONDON — Racepoint Global UK has been chosen by Redbricks, a household bills management service, to represent the brand in creating awareness around the new company within student media and property trade publications. Redbricks uses algorithms to predict energy usage for the year, taking into account variables such as the customer's past usage, gender, age and courses studied.
