LONDON – TikTok has hired Giles Derrington as senior government relations and public policy manager. Derrington had been Deliveroo’s head of public affairs for the UK and Ireland since 2019.

LONDON — Air Partner, a global aviation services group that provides aircraft charter, aviation safety and security to businesses and private individuals, has appointed Mark Aldridge as chief marketing officer. In his new role, Aldridge oversees global marketing, with a focus on customer, digital and brand. Aldridge previously spent 11 years at BAA as head of brand marketing communications, overseeing consumer and corporate comms, online campaigns and events for the group’s seven airports. He has also worked on brand marketing for Marks & Spencer.

LONDON – Proportunity, a UK fintech that helps first-time buyers onto the property ladder, has appointed Sarah Aird-Mash as vice president of marketing. Aird-Mash joins from Currencycloud, where she was head of EMEA marketing. She has also worked at Google, eBay and WPP. At Proportunity, she will be responsible for the development, implementation and monitoring of all marketing activities, as well as building the team as the company scales.

LONDON – The PRCA has elected Grayling global CEO Sarah Scholefield (pictured) as vice-chair. Scholefield will succeed Rachel Friend as PRCA chair when her term concludes in the autumn of 2022. She joined Grayling to lead the strategic direction, coordination, corporate and crisis work for PayPal globally, and was later promoted to CEO of UK and Ireland. In September 2020, her role was extended to oversee the Grayling business globally.

SHEFFIELD, UK — Virtual health communications consultancy Evergreen PR has hired Matt Thompson as a director. Thompson has held senior communications positions at Asda, Yorkshire Water and Finn, and has worked for the agency for several months as a consultant.

LONDON — The International Association for Measurement and Evaluation of Communications (AMEC) has named PRCA director general Francis Ingham as the recipient of its 2021 Don Bartholomew Award, which recognises outstanding service to the communication measurement and evaluation industry. Previous recipients include Jim Macnamara, John Croll, Allyson Hugley and Sandra Macleod.
