LONDON — Edelman UK technology MD Gerry Wisniewski is moving to a new role as Europe MD of Revere, Edelman’s tech comms sister firm, marking a shift into Europe for the San Francisco-based agency. Wisniewski joined Edelman’s London office in 2010 as SVP technology and was promoted to MD in 2018; she previously worked at Speed Communications, Ranieri PR and Weber Shandwick.

LONDON — Headland has hired former NatWest Group chief communications officer Nigel Prideaux as a partner. He joins the agency’s exco to advise Headland clients on a range of reputational and business issues. Before NatWest, Prideaux spent a decade as group communications director at Aviva, leading all elements of the multinational insurer’s communications through a period of significant transformation. He began his career in the corporate finance department at Barings before joining Brunswick Group in 1995 where he spent 15 years, latterly as a partner helping to lead and develop the financial services practice and advising clients on reputation and M&A mandates.

HAMBURG — MSL Germany has appointed Marco Vollmar as a partner. Formerly the long-standing head of communications and campaigns at WWF Germany, Vollmar will strengthen sustainability and ESG communications as well as expand campaign activities at the agency, where he has been working as a senior advisor since the start of this year. He reports to MSL Germany CEO Wigan Salazar. Before joining WWF, Vollmar worked in radio, including as editor-in-chief at news and current affairs broadcaster Deutsche Welle.

LONDON — Portland has made a number of senior hires and promotions in its corporate communications practice. George Kotschy (pictured, right) joins as a director from the Department for Transport, where he was deputy director of communications for group media and external affairs, and has also held senior communications roles at Morrisons, Yorkshire Water and the Home Office. Priscilla Truong (left) also joins as a director from Freuds, where she drove global sustainability communications for consumer and retail brands such as Mars and Parfums Christian Dior and devised integrated communication strategies to engage stakeholders on corporate ESG strategies. Portland has also promoted three longstanding employees: Harriet Black and Guy Warman, who both joined as interns in 2015, and former CNBC journalist Emily Canfor-Dumas.

BRUSSELS — Tipik, a communications agency within Sword Group with headquarters in Brussels and offices across Europe that works with public institutions and international organisations, has promoted Gökçe Kalayci to managing director, succeeding Erik Morren, who led the agency from 2012 to 2022. Kalayci has been a member of Tipik’s management team since 2018, before which she worked for agencies in Brussels and Istanbul including ICF Next and FleishmanHillard.

LONDON — PLMR Group’s energy and sustainability team has hired Jack Abbott as a senior account manager. Abbott joins from the Association for Renewable Energy and Clean Technology, the UK’s largest renewable energy trade association, where he was PR and communications manager, including leading its response to the Energy Generator Levy and being lead author and editor of REview22, the association’s annual report. Abbott, who is also a Labour Party parliamentary candidate for Ipswich, joins a rapidly-growing practice which counts British Solar Renewables, InterGen and Biffa on its client roster.

BATH, UK — Lodging and hospitality public relations specialist Abode Worldwide, founded in 2017 by Jessica Gillingham, has appointed Neil Millard as managing director. Millard joins the agency from Rhizome Media, where he spent six years working across industries with a focus on property. Before that, he was a journalist working on titles including the London Evening Standard, MailOnline, Sunday Mirror and the Sun. Abode’s focus is on technology platforms and enterprise-level operators across the short term rental, hotels, multifamily/build to rent, student lodging, co-living, and senior living sectors across North America and Europe.
