LONDON — Instinctif Partners has appointed Moray Macdonald (pictured) to the new position of managing partner and group head of public policy. Macdonald joins the consultancy after nearly 18 years at Weber Shandwick, where he was latterly managing director of EMEA Studios, and had led the Scottish office for eight years.

LONDON — BCW has re-hired Simon Richards, a former director at the agency, as its UK head of public affairs. For the past two years, Richards has been head of communications at the property arm of the NHS. He will report to Nick Williams, who was promoted to group MD for corporate and public affairs last July as BCW merged the two practices.

LONDON — Milk & Honey PR has bolstered its creative team with two appointments. Charla Maclean joins as digital creative from Bird & Blend Tea Co, where she was brand communications manager. Maclean will lead creative work for Epson, Techfugees and chocolate brand Luker. Former client director Alice Kennedy moves into the new role of senior creative and will lead campaigns for mobile network Giffgaff, children’s charity Make-A-Wish UK and dating app Inner Circle. The duo will work with partner and global creative director Ottilie Ratcliffe.

LONDON — Engine MHP+Mischief has hired Sameer Gulati, former head of fintech at Cicero/AMO, to its financial services team as a director. He will lead on strategic counsel for fintech clients including Plaid, Marshmallow, Coinbase, Moonpay and Wayflyer. Before joining Cicero/AMO last April, Gulati was fintech specialist and advisor at the Department for International Trade.

BRUSSELS — Integrated strategic communications and public affairs consultancy Fourtold has appointed international political communications specialist James Holtum. He joins the agency from consultancy Rasmussen Global, where he served as European affairs director and media director and was the spokesperson for CEO Anders Fogh Rasmussen, the former Danish PM and NATO secretary-general. Holtum has also been head of communication for a European Parliament political group and headed the UK Conservative Party's media operation in Brussels. Fourtold now numbers more than 30 people in the UK, Belgium, Germany and the US.

LONDON — Stirred, the healthcare agency set up by Stuart Hehir and Jo Spadaccino last summer, has hired Emma Marie Lea as a consultant. She previously worked with the co-founders at Pegasus (now Mind+Matter), where she was a senior strategist across a range of human and animal health clients, including Bayer, AstraZeneca, Sanofi, Vetoquinol, Cryoport Inc., Thornton & Ross, Eukanuba, and Merz.

LONDON — Publicis healthcare communications agency Langland has hired Julia Kirby in a newly-created position of director of internal engagement and culture. Kirby will support group MD Victoria Wright with the development of agency workplace culture.

LONDON — Maximilian Weigl is joining creative and strategic brand and business building company ScienceMagic.Inc (SMI) to lead planning and strategy for clients, as well as developing the firm’s business proposition and leading its team of strategists and planners. He joins from the Amsterdam office of creative agency 72andSunny, where he was deputy executive strategy director. SMI was launched in 2020 by David Pemsel, former CEO of Guardian Media Group, with Julietta Dexter and Daniel Marks, formerly of The Communications Store.

LONDON — Brand building, communications and analytics agency Boldspace has appointed Tom Franz as head of film. Franz will work across the agency’s client base to oversee the production of film and integrated, visual campaigns. The hire takes the agency’s headcount to 28. Franz was previously head of production at social first agency Digital Natives, working with clients including Breville, FitBit and LVMH.

MANCHESTER — Mediaworks has appointed Chris Jevons as account director to lead client services for Mediaworks’ North West-based clients. Jevons was most recently account director at Manchester agency Big Brand Ideas.
