LONDON — BCW UK has appointed Shakira Akinjobi as director of influencer marketing. Akinjobi (pictured) joins from content marketing agency The Looping Group, where she was global account lead for BMW and responsible for the car manufacturer’s global influencer marketing strategy and social content creation. In her new role, she reports to Kate Matlock, managing director of the agency’s digital innovation group in London. Akinjobi replaces Yenan Wang, who left BCW last year to become head of TikTok Live.

PARIS — Strategic advisory firm Brunswick Group has promoted Guillaume Maujean to lead its Paris office. Maujean joined Brunswick as a partner in 2019, after 18 years at French financial publication Les Echos, where he was editor-in-chief of finance and markets. Leading the 40-strong Paris team at Brunswick, Maujean advises clients on engagement with the financial markets and media. He replaces Hakim El Karoui, who joined as partner and head of the Paris office in 2021, and has returned to his independent strategic consulting and investment firm, Volentia.

DUBLIN — CW8 Communications, a global boutique strategic communications advisory firm, has hired Gavin Nugent as an associate director in its corporate affairs practice to bolster its sustainability and ESG offer. Nugent joins from Coca-Cola, where he was sustainability communications manager for Europe, and will advise on client areas climate-tech and agritech. He will report to Colm Woods, managing director of corporate affairs at CW8, who was promoted to the MD role in March and was formerly Aramark Northern Europe’s director of corporate communications and regional Net Zero strategy lead.

LONDON — Financial services communications agency Cognito has appointed Charlie Ansdell to the new role of chief operating and strategy officer. Ansdell has spent the past decade in global consultancy roles focused on financial and professional services, digital communications and data-led communications strategy, including as MD of Newgate from 2018 to 2022. Previously Ansdell spent eight years in-house at Santander in London and Madrid, leading projects in the UK communications function and the global technology and operations division. Ansdell’s new role includes client experience across the agency’s seven global offices, as well as professional development and strategic and operational plans for the business. He will also join the Cognito board.

LONDON — Health and life sciences communications group Inizio has strengthened the senior leadership team at Inizio Medical with two appointments, in response to technology trends reshaping the industry. Paul Hatton joins as president of medical analytics and innovation, after being managing director of the Synaptik and Medical Expressions agencies within medical communications network Nucleus Global. Former global chief medical analytics and innovation officer Matt Lewis is promoted to the new role of global chief artificial and augmented intelligence officer, to establish a ‘centre of excellence’ for AI in the healthcare communications sector.

LONDON — Rapid electric vehicle charging firm InstaVolt, the largest open public charging network in the UK, has appointed Ben Smith as marketing director. The business recently expanded into four new European markets. Smith has worked in strategic marketing roles for companies including marine electronics company Navico, Regent Seven Seas cruises, multinational technology company Garmin, and most recently at property developer RoyaleGroup.
