LONDON—PRovoke Media has announced the finalists for the 2020 EMEA region SABRE Awards competition, with Golin (including its healthcare subsidiary Virgo) and its clients leading the way with 15 nominations.

Golin finished ahead of global agencies Burson Cohn & Wolfe and Edelman (14 nominations each); Ogilvy (12); and Hill+Knowlton Strategies (11).

Other agencies with multiple finalists included UK consumer firm Tin Man (nine); MSL Group (seven); Ketchum and Weber Shandwick (six); Swiss market leader Farner, Grayling, British firm Hope&Glory, Italian consultancy INC, UK agency Red Consultancy, and London-based The Romans (five); and APCO Worldwide, Brands2Life, Coolr, CROS, FleishmanHillard, Interel, LLYC, and Omnicom PR Group (four).

The winners were selected from among almost 2,400 entries to this year’s EMEA region competition by a panel of 68 industry leading judges selected from a wide range of markets and spanning both the agency and client-side of the business.

“Our judges work incredibly hard, reading and evaluating multiple entries, at the best of times,” said Paul Holmes, founder of PRovoke Media and chair of the jury. “This year we are clearly not living through the best of times, and so the time, effort, and consideration these professionals put into picking the winners was truly remarkable.

“The campaigns selected as finalists this year are truly exceptional. They represent top quality planning and strategy, brilliant insights, amazing creativity across multiple media and all available channels, and—more than ever before—an emphasis on real business outcomes. All of our finalists should be very proud.”

The 2020 EMEA SABREs were originally scheduled to be presented at our annual awards dinner in Paris on May 28. That event has been canceled due the coronavirus pandemic, and PRovoke Media is exploring various alternatives, including a virtual awards presentation. An announcement will be made shortly.
