LONDON — Eaton Corporation, the $21bn power management company, has commenced a search for PR support across seven EMEA markets.

The assignment, worth around $90k per month, calls for an agency to provide corporate and business communications support across the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Netherlands and Norway.

The RFP comes as Eaton aims to step up brand familiarity as energy issues take centre-stage in the new economy. In particular, Eaton is hoping to showcase its credentials across such areas as energy storage, safety of people and assets, energy efficiency and intelligent infrastructure.

Eaton EMEA marketing communications director Jonathan Dinkeldein noted that he is looking for an agency "with either wholly owned or closely affiliated offices" in the seven markets. "The agency will be expected to have strong experience in the IT and clean technology sectors to support launches and promotions of new offers in the data center and energy storage markets."

In addition to media and analyst relations, Eaton also requires support of its social media activities, including training. The company will continue to work with incumbent UK trade PR agency Technical Publicity.

In addition, Dinkeldein said that Eaton is aiming to hire an experienced PR professional to join its central marketing communications team in Slough, focusing on media, social media and agency management across EMEA.

Founded in the US more than 100 years ago, Eaton employs approximately 95,000 people and sells products to customers in more than 175 countries. Earlier this year, the company announced a deal with Nissan to release a new residential energy storage system that they claim will be “the most affordable in the market today.”
