NEW YORK — Coty has named Esra Erkal-Paler, currently AstraZeneca’s global head of external communications, as its new chief global affairs officer, as well as an executive committee member.

In the newly created role, Erkal-Paler will lead Coty’s global internal and external communications strategies. She will be based in London and report  to CEO Camillo Pane starting May 21.

Erkal-Paler has spent the last seven years at biopharmaceutical company AstraZeneca, most recently leading communications and editorial strategy surrounding areas including M&A, finances and the corporation. Global media relations, leveraging digital channels and community investment have also been under her purview.

Before joining AstraZeneca, Erkal-Paler spent more than six at years at L’Oréal Group leading internal and external communications as well as public and industry affairs in the UK and Ireland. Her experience also includes being head of corporate affairs for Unilever’s home and personal care division.
