BRUSSELS--The European Union is seeking substantial PR agency support for its efforts to improve public health in the region.
The European Commission Directorate-General for Health and Consumers (DG Sanco) is set to spend €22m over the next four years on public relations firms, and has released a brief detailing its requirements.
The search comes amid continued deadlock over a new tobacco products law. The EU is also considering numerous controversial issues, including minimum unit pricing on alcohol; and a less restrictive pharmaceutical policy.
The brief is split into three sections, covering content creation; event management; and, audiovisual services.
EU lawmakers are currently challenging the nomination of Malta's foreign minister Tonio Borg, because of his stance on homosexuality and abortion.
