LONDON — Fast-growth tech and venture capital PR specialist agency FieldHouse Associates has made two senior appointments, promoting Iain Alexander to director and hiring former Sunday Times enterprise editor Peter Evans as head of media strategy.

Alexander (pictured) joined FieldHouse as an account manager in 2016 and becomes the first person to rise through the agency’s ranks to become a director, joining Neil Robertson, Nicky Harrison, and Anna Jones alongside founder and MD Cordelia Meacher.

In his new role, Alexander told PRovoke Media he will work with the agency’s other directors on business strategy, as well as leading accounts including Jaguar Land Rover’s corporate venture capital arm InMotion Ventures, Oxford University’s AI company Mind Foundry, and seed stage investor SFC Capital. He will also co-lead the agency’s culture and DE&I working group and take on a new role as ‘head of storytelling’ to support clients in developing and delivering corporate narratives.

Meacher said: “Iain has exceptional PR skills – especially his talent for writing – but he brings way more to our team than that. Iain has found his way under the skin of the tech and venture capital industry, and his deep understanding and connections mean he is able to offer highly sophisticated consultancy to both clients and our team. He is also one of the most genuine and ethical people I could hope to know, and cares deeply about individuals and the issues that matter.”

Alexander added: “FieldHouse has changed a lot. But two things have remained constant: the absolute commitment to doing high-impact work that changes the trajectories of innovators and investors shaping the future economy, and the pleasure of doing that work with some of the smartest, most driven colleagues you could hope for.”

Evans joins FieldHouse from the communications team at fashion retailer Seasalt Cornwall. He was enterprise editor at the Sunday Times from 2017 to 2020 – where he first met Meacher –  having joined the paper from the Wall Street Journal in 2015. In his new role, Evans will lead work with venture capital and cybersecurity clients, as well as expanding the agency’s media training and corporate storytelling capabilities.

Meacher said: “Having known Peter for a long time, and having worked on numerous stories together, I’m excited that he has been tempted over to the ‘dark side’! Having spent years covering some of the UK’s most innovative and fastest-growing companies, Peter has an almost unparalleled depth of knowledge - and network of contacts -  around the fast-growth tech and VC ecosystem. Alongside his journalistic nous, Peter is going to be an invaluable asset to our team and clients”

The 25-strong agency has also made a raft of other promotions, including Lily Wiggins joining the leadership team as associate director, while Jhanvi Gudka becomes senior account director and Andrew Malone and Max Daniels have been promoted to account director.

The hires and promotions come as the 10-year-old agency registered year-on-year growth of 28 per cent, and is on track for similar this year. Client wins in 2022 have so far included multi-billion-Euro venture capital firm Target Global; French venture capital start-up Edda; and Odin Space, a spacetech company that maps previously-invisible debris in orbit.
