NEW YORK — Finn Partners has acquired the Pharmacy Podcast Network, whose audio content reaches more than 100,000 listeners a month.

PPN, which covers the pharmacy business, will operate as a division of Finn, as will its new digital magazine RX Influencer. PPN will be led by VP and executive producer Todd Eury. He will report to Finn’s global health chair Gil Bashe.

Eury, who founded the network, will continue to operate PPN independently and have authority over content.

Having PPN under its umbrella, however, provides Finn new channels to connect with audiences in the pharmacy sector.

"The Finn community — colleagues and clients — will have access to one of the leading resources to reach this influential health decision-making community. Plus Finn colleagues will have professional development resources to hone their knowledge on how pharmacy influences the entire health ecosystem— community care, hospital pharmacy, long-term care residences and payer formulary decisions," Bashe said. "Pharmacy is instrumental in the national public health system."

PPN features 30 different podcast programs and some 40 different co-hosts helping to develop audio content about the pharmacy sector. Listeners include individuals who work in communities, hospitals, senior-care residences, the military and public health settings.

Said founding partner Peter Finn, “Iconic newsstand media such as Forbes and BusinessWeek are evolving their business models – inviting once-readers to become paid ‘participant columnists’ — while The Atlantic and Wall Street Journal thrive on edgy digital content and mainstage conferences. Today, ideas and opinions are honed and expressed across medium and channels — and Finn is following that lead, too."

Buying PPN is the latest step in a larger effort by Finn to grow the size and reach of its healthcare group.

In July, the firm promoted managing partner Kristie Kuhl to global health practice leader, assuming the oversight responsibilities that had belonged to global health chair Gil Bashe. Bashe now focuses on efforts to grow the operation including acquisitions, agencywide strategy and making healthcare comms part of other disciplines’ offerings.

Just weeks earlier, the firm acquired Agency Ten22, which specializes in health information technology. Finn Partners also bought healthcare specialists Lazar Partners in the US and Medical & Health Consulting in Paris in 2019.
