SEOUL — Former LG Electronics global corporate communications head Ken Hong has joined Weber Shandwick in a newly-created role aimed at leading globalisation efforts for the firm's Asia-domiciled clients.

As client experience EVP, Hong reports directly to Weber Shandwick Asia-Pacific CEO Tyler Kim, focusing specifically on the increasing number of Asian companies that require global representation.

Hong returns to Weber Shandwick after 13 years with LG Electronics, where he oversaw the Korean giant's corporate communications globally, before leaving at the start of this year. Prior to LG Electronics he held senior roles at Weber Shandwick and MSL.

“Ken is well respected within the industry and brings a deep understanding of the global communications and marketing landscape from both an agency and a client perspective," said Kim.

"Increasingly, Asian clients are looking to us to enable them to build strategies that are a roadmap to success. Ken will be sharing his expertise and insights with client leads across the region and will be a key driver for our strategy as we continue our journey in being a champion for Asian brands worldwide."

Hong will work closely with Weber Shandwick's Asia-Pacific market leaders, helping clients navigate the complexities of the issues they face in expanding their business across the Asia-Pacific region and beyond.
