NEW YORK — Former Ogilvy exec Nathan Friedman has landed at Citizen Relations as its general manager for the US to oversee its 80-person operation across three offices in the region.

Friedman is charged with managing clients service, growth, operations, talent and innovation. In the US, the $36.6 million-dollar firm has three offices in New York, Los Angeles and Irvine. Its work is primarily in the consumer arena with P&G among its major clients. He reports into North America president Nick Cowling.

Citizen’s US operation was previously led by Chris Chamberlain who relocated to Hong Kong to focus on its Asia-Pac expansion last year. In late 2014, BlueFocus Communications Group, the Chinese public relations giant acquired a majority position in Vision7, parent company of the equally expansion-minded PR firm Citizen Relations.

Friedman had been with Ogilvy PR for 16 years before resigning last year. Most recently, he was Western region head (a position he held since 2013) and before that was head of its Chicago office and was the North American lead for LG-One, the multi-agency WPP team created for LG Electronics.
