SINGAPORE - FTI Consulting has named Kainoa Blaisdell as its new managing director for Singapore. Blaisdell has been with the company for just under two years and joined in 2023 as a senior director.
"My focus remains on advising financial services firms, asset managers, institutional investors, and corporate clients on their most critical communications challenges. This includes primarily supporting clients through M&A, investor relations, fundraising, and special situations, and reputation management," said Blaisdell in an exclusive conversation with PRovoke Media.
"Additionally, I will be playing a more active role in shaping our practice’s growth strategy and deepening our engagement with key stakeholders across the region," he said.
Based in Singapore, Blaisdell will manage the broader Asia-Pacific region, working closely with the teams in key markets to deliver strategic communications support to clients across different regulatory and business landscapes. "Southeast Asia though, is a big focus for our team, as we see transaction volumes picking back up this year," he said.
Blaisdell said that in the short term, his priority is to further strengthen the agency's capabilities in financial services and investment communications space, ensuring it continues to provide clients with the highest level of insight and counsel. "I also want to focus on talent development, mentoring and growing the next generation of communications advisors within FTI to tackle ever more challenging client engagements with insight and a data-driven approach," he said.

"One of the most rewarding aspects of my time at FTI has been helping clients navigate high-stakes moments of change and crisis - whether it’s a complex M&A transaction, defending against an activist investor, or managing a restructuring process regulatory that requires a nimble and proactive strategic communications strategy," said Blaisdell when asked what his proudest achievements in the role were.
"If I had to highlight a key achievement, it would be building long-term trust with clients by delivering counsel that is both commercially sound and strategically impactful for their stakeholders. It’s also been incredibly fulfilling to mentor and support the next generation of professionals in our team. I hope we continue to build out our capabilities in the region and continue to partner with leading industry advisors and clients on critical milestones that shape their businesses," he said.
"I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to step into this role and continue working alongside such talented colleagues and clients. The financial services and investment landscape in Asia-Pacific is evolving rapidly, and our role as trusted advisors has never been more critical. I look forward to helping our clients navigate complexity, mitigate risks, and seize opportunities in the years to come," said Blaisdell.
This comes shortly after FTI Consulting picked Géraldine Amiel as a senior managing director in the firm’s strategic communications segment.
Amiel will work across multiple practice areas to provide strategic counsel to clients facing complex financial and reputational challenges. Her appointment underscores FTI Consulting’s commitment to strengthening its leadership in high-stakes corporate, crisis and litigation communications across the French market and regionally in EMEA, it said in a statement.
