NEW YORK—GCI Health has promoted Elisia Canna to lead the expansion of Well Living, the company’s consumer health specialty, in response to what the firm says is a new “focus on people wanting to feel well, not simply avoid being sick.

According to agency CEO Wendy Lund, “More than ever, consumers are taking an active role in protecting and monitoring their wellness, from the foods they consume and the products they use, to the ways they maintain and improve health, as well as the latest products and services—such as wearable digital trackers, e-health applications and tools—they use to literally track their every move.”

The firm has also named Aimee Huss market leader for the Chicago office. She has been a senior VP at GCI Health since 2007.

In addition, Maura Siefring has joined the firm’s media team as vice president, having previously developed provided counsel for clients of Tonic Life Communications, focusing on diabetes, immunology, respiratory and cosmetic programs.
