DUSSELDORF — German engineering giant GEA Group has appointed Jill Meiburg as its new head of corporate communications, marketing and brand.

GEA makes farm technology, mechanical equipment, processing and refrigeration technology for the food, beverage and pharmaceutical sectors, with a focus on improving industry sustainability by helping to reduce CO2 emissions, plastic use and food waste in the production process. The group has around 18,500 employees and last year generated revenue of €4.9 billion.

Meiburg, who takes up her post on November 1, joins the company from Deutsche Post DHL Group, where she is currently senior vice president, sustainability communications and programs. She succeeds Nicole Pichin, who left GEA at the end of July to join elevator manufacturer Thyssenkrupp as head of communications and product marketing.

In her new role, Meiburg will drive global communications strategy, assuming responsibility for internal and external communications, corporate marketing and branding, as well as public affairs.

During her 14-year tenure at Deutsche Post DHL, Meiburg held various leadership roles, focusing on sustainability, communications strategy, digital communications and internal communications. Before that, she worked in international communications and marketing at Deutsche Telekom AG in Bonn and New York.

Meiburg will report to CEO Stefan Klebert, who said: “We are delighted to welcome Jill Meiburg, an accomplished communications leader, to our team. Her recognised track record in corporate reputation management and her international experience will be great assets to the company.”
