LONDON —WPP PR firm Buchanan has hired City PR veteran Giles Sanderson as deputy chairman and partner.

Sanderson departs Powerscourt, where he had been a partner since 2011. His arrival at Buchanan comes after the firm hired partner Henry Harrison-Topham in July and associate director Vicky Watkins in May.

"His proven experience in building teams and nurturing talent reflects Buchanan’s principles of valuing our team of talented consultants," said Buchanan chairman Richard Oldworth in a statement. "We very much look forward to him playing a key role in the firm’s strategic growth plans."

Sanderson joined Financial Dynamics in 1994 where he established and ran the technology and telecoms practice. After the sale to FTI Consulting he was a member of FD's six-person London board, leading the financial communications unit's business development and, in 2009, launching and co-leading the restructuring communications team.
