NEW YORK — Glanbia Performance Nutrition — whose brands include Optimum Nutrition, SlimFast and Isopure — has handed Hill+Knowlton Strategies its US PR business as the company positions itself for global growth.

The company, which in 2021 was a $1.4 billion business, named H+K its US PR agency of record following a competitive review. The account previously belonged to MikeWorldWide.

H+K will handle US PR for GPN brands and corporate thought leadership. The agency will also provide GPN ESG advisory support.

A subsidiary of Irish nutrition company Glanbia, GPN produces products designed to enhance sports performance and support fitness, health, and wellness.

The company acquired SlimFast, the well-known weight management brand, for roughly $350 million in 2018. GPN products, which include Body & Fit, Amazing Grass, Think, and BSN among others, are sold in more than 100 markets worldwide. On its website, GPN says the company is pursuing global expansion through a strategy that includes bringing new products to new markets.
