NEW YORK – Golin Chairman Ellen Ryan Mardiks has been elected 2023 chair of the PR Council’s board of directors.

In the role, Mardiks will lead the board’s and larger organization’s efforts supporting PR agencies' success. She succeeds FleishmanHillard global COO and Americas President J.J. Carter.

Mardiks' tenure coincides with the PRC’s 25th year in operation.

“Our agencies have never been more vital,” she said. “This anniversary offers the perfect opportunity to celebrate our momentum as we fix our focus firmly on the future. We’re pivoting to the next great era in public relations, one where we’ll make an even more significant and deeper impact on our clients’ business, and on our people and their careers.”

Other board members elected to the executive committee include MSL US CEO Diana Littman as vice chair; Wilbron President and CEO Brandon Wilson as treasurer; and C+C Partner Julie Colehour as secretary. Kim Sample, PRC president, is also a member of the executive committee.

Fenton CEO Valarie De La Garza, Kite Hill CEO and founder Tiffany Guarnaccia, BCW Global President Brooke Hovey and Racepoint Global President Bob Osmond have been elected directors for three-year terms.

“This group of industry leaders brings the highest levels of intellect and passion to help us deliver unparalleled value to our member firms,” Sample said. “While the past few years have proven the power of the PR discipline, our focus is on the future and ensuring PR agencies continue to assert their influence for the next 25 years.”
