SINGAPORE — Golin has acquired Singapore's Hurrah Productions, in a bid to bolster its creative content capabilities.
The deal sees Hurrah’s staff and clients become part of Golin Singapore. James Rotheram, who founded Hurrah in 2008, takes on an executive director role at Golin.
"We’ve come a long way since we started 10 years ago in an industry that has changed beyond recognition," said Rotheram in a statement. "Bringing our offering alongside Golin’s in earned and owned media is an exciting prospect and we think we have something very special to offer brands."
The deal is not the first time that Golin has sought to expand its creative abilities via an agency addition; in 2016, the Interpublic firm acquired ad agency The Brooklyn Brothers
in the UK.
"Visual storytelling is going to be an integral part of what we do in progressive public relations, whether that comes in short or long form content, for social or broadcast,” said Tarun Deo, Golin's Singapore/Southeast Asia MD. "With Hurrah Productions’ strong reputation in the industry, keen eye for creative detail and amazing culture, I believe they will be a fantastic addition to the Golin Singapore team, as we continue to be the nice guys who kick ass."
Hurrah's client portfolio includes such brands as Netflix, Aston Martin, UD Trucks and Jetstar, with the agency focusing on branded video content. Those services will become part of Golin Singapore's DAC team, which covers digital, analytics and creative.
"Golin Singapore’s DAC team was an experiment seeded 18 months ago as a foundation for an integrated and progressive approach to public relations," said Golin Singapore ECD Shouvik Prasanna Mukherjee. "And the symbiotic relationship between digital marketing, analytics and creatives has made this experiment a great success – James’s team will add an additional layer of terrific capabilities to what we can offer clients and it goes both ways."
