MIAMI—Golin/Harris International has added new tobacco prevention programs in three states: South Carolina, Indiana and Pennsylvania. The accounts will be managed jointly by the Miami office of the agency—the recently acquired Nixon Group, which specializes in social marketing—and the firm’s office in Washington, D.C.
In South Carolina, Brains on Fire—the advertising agency for the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control—has hired Golin/Harris to provide grassroots promotional support for the state’s recently launched tobacco control movement and new mobile marketing tour.  The program will support the state’s youth tobacco prevention movement, Rage Against the Haze, and is scheduled to hit the streets of South Carolina in mid-May.
In Indiana, the Teen Institute has hired Golin/Harris for a two-year project to develop and implement a youth-led movement that will include an advocacy initiative. The project’s goal is to reverse the social acceptability of tobacco use across the state.
In Pennsylvania, the state Department of Health’s advertising agency, The Neiman Group, will involve Golin/Harris in its work with Pennsylvania youth, providing message training and event logistics for a youth rally in addition to organizing six regional training events around the state.
