LONDON – Golin has appointed Sophie Hodgson as executive director, to bring technology and enterprise expertise to the agency’s growing corporate and B2B team.

Hodgson joins from Aspectus Group, where she headed up the B2B tech team with clients including SAP Concur, Malwarebytes, breatheHR and ZoneFox. She was previously head of technology at Speed Communications, working on the Virgin Media Business and Informatica accounts.

Hodgson reports into deputy managing director, Emily Luscombe, who joined Golin a year ago to build the agency’s corporate and B2B expertise. Luscombe brought the other senior members of the team, Tom Glover and Victoria Brophy, on board in November last year.

Luscombe told the Holmes Report: “I needed someone who could handle hardcore reputation issues within the technology environment as well as knowing the issues in the technology and enterprise industry. It’s a challenge to find a blend of the two, so Sophie brings something we don’t have, that is increasingly in demand from clients.”

She added: “This year, the environment is so uncertain and clients don’t know what’s coming and which customers they will need to focus on in six months – they are having to pivot quickly from internal messaging and change management to the external brand perspective. We’re having the same conversations with clients across EMEA, and it translates to an opportunity for us.”

Hodgson said: “Golin is known in the industry as an agency that refuses to accept the status quo and is constantly looking to break new ground. The agency’s investment in creative, strategy and planning is a real selling point. Golin’s approach means we can deliver brand-defining campaigns that make a real difference to a client’s business.”
