LONDON—Gatwick Airport has selected Grayling as its public relations agency, following a lengthy tender process that began at the start of this year.

The business, previously handled by Red Consultancy, will see Grayling oversee Gatwick’s attempts to communicate its multi-billion pound transformation programme.

"In the past five years, Gatwick Airport has invested more than £1 billion to improve the airport, from a new shuttle service to state-of-the-art security, to a radical retail overhaul and new gate rooms," said Grayling international and network MD Susan Hutchinson, who will lead the account.

"This investment has touched every part of their business, with further huge investment promising continued improvements for passengers and business travellers."

A number of agencies are believed to have taken part in the tender process, for an assignment which is valued in the six-figure range.

"Gatwick is changing and the huge improvements made over the last five years will be matched by further significant investment as the airport continues its transformation," said Sarah Baranowski, head of corporate affairs at Gatwick Airport.
