LONDON — Hill+Knowlton Strategies has hired Jamie Corr as the new managing director of its sports offer in the UK.

Corr joins from GMR Marketing, where he specialised in sports marketing consultancy for brands including Bridgestone and Allianz, and their relationship with the Olympics. Before this, Jamie was a member of the Partnership Marketing team at the International Olympic Committee (IOC). Corr has also worked for M&C Saatchi Sport and Entertainment, Grayling and Redbull.

He has been responsible for global sports communications and marketing at events including the Sochi 2014 Olympic Games, the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Games, Tata Consulting’s sponsorship of the Tour De France and Red Bull X Fighters.

Corr will work with Charlie Morgan, overall MD of H+K UK’s Tech, Sports and Entertainment teams. He replaces the agency’s previous sports lead, Andy Sutherden, who left in spring last year and is now international head of brand consulting at Creative Artists Agency.

Simon Whitehead, CEO of H+K UK, said: “Jamie really impressed us; his vision for the sector is akin to ours – a team that believes in the power of sport to change lives, working every day to positively impact cultures and change societies for the better.

Corr added: “I’ve long admired H+K, whose Sports sector is well known for their creative campaigns. The opportunity to work with them is very exciting, especially during an Olympic year. I believe we can continue to build on recent growth and develop the practice in new ways.”

H+K’s Sport portfolio currently includes HSBC, Adidas, Gillette, Wanda, ITF and Activision.
