SAN FRANCISCO, April 30—Hewlett-Packard has selected Golin/Harris International to lead public relations efforts for three new segments of the company’s business and commercial operation. The three initiatives are designed to enable the company to sell an integrated selection of products and services to small and medium sized businesses and several targeted vertical markets, as well as enhance relationships with partners.

The initiatives were created as a result of HP’s recent restructuring, and it is believed that several firms with existing HP relationships were invited to pitch. Golin/Harris has worked with several HP business units since the mid-1990s.
The San Francisco office of Golin/Harris will manage the HP relationship, with Brian Sinderson, executive vice president, serving as strategic lead. Several other offices in the firm’s technology and e-business practice will provide support as the agency spearheads worldwide strategic communications planning, participates in strategy and counsel activities, manages positioning and messaging support, and provides research and measurement services.
