MIAMI—John Gerzema, chief executive officer of The Harris Poll, one of the world’s leading public opinion, market research and strategy firms will be among the speakers at PRovoke17, the Global Public Relations Summit in Miami next month.

He will present new research from Harris that reveals the inter-relationship between reputation, brand equity and consumer intent, suggesting companies with good products can take greater stands in society, and he will lead a discussion about how companies need to think holistically about society and the marketplace.

“Today, the best run firms today understand they aren’t selling brands people buy, but ones they buy into.” He says. “This is ‘culture as business model’. In this new world, PR needs to lead by taking the company’s vision and expressing it in society and the marketplace, through HR, innovation, brand marketing, in short… everything.”

Gerzema is a pioneer in the use of data to identify social change and help leaders and
organizations anticipate and adapt to new trends and demands and an expert in leadership and management of social change

Previously global chief insights officer at Young & Rubicam and CEO of WPP’s BAV Consulting, he presented his findings on gender inequality in media and the workplace at The World Economic Forum in 2017 and designed an analytic model with The Wharton School for US News & World Report “Best Countries” rankings.

His latest book with Pulitzer-Prize winner Michael D’Antonio, The Athena Doctrine, explores the rise of feminine values in leadership, policy and innovation.
