LONDON — Headland has announced a new senior leadership structure, with managing partner Dan Mines stepping up to chief executive officer and current CEO Chris Salt becoming chair of the consultancy.

In addition, Headland has created two new leadership roles: Suzanne Morris (pictured, middle) becomes chief operating officer, and Dan Smith (right) and Stephen Malthouse (second left) take on new managing director roles.

Mines (pictured, second right) has been managing partner since co-founding Headland with Salt (left) in 2012, while Morris and Smith work across Headland’s corporate communications and campaigning offers. Malthouse has been a co-leader of Headland’s financial communications offer alongside Lucy Legh, who will now take on sole leadership of the team. All will continue to lead client relationships under the new structure.

Over the past year, Headland has grown its work and team in sustainability and employee engagement, and its digital, strategy, insight and planning offers, as well as adding a citizen and community offer. These areas are integrated with the original pillars of the business – capital markets and financial communications, corporate and public affairs – depending on client requirements.

Salt said the leadership changes aimed to foster greater collaboration across all areas of the 160-strong business: “Collaboration lies at the heart of Headland. It is the key to our culture and our approach to reputation; it informs our advice to clients; and is central to our business success. These changes will ensure we have the right leadership structure in place to foster even greater collaboration, enhance our capabilities for clients and drive continued growth.

“Dan, Suzanne, Stephen and Dan bring the right perspectives, expertise and dedication to our clients and people to lead our business as we head into our second decade.”
