SAN FRANCISCO — Highwire has expanded its senior leadership team with the addition of experts in DE&I, content creation and strategy.
Ayanna Anderson has joined Highwire as the firm’s head of diversity, inclusion and belonging. In the newly created role, Anderson (pictured) supports Highwire’s inclusion and belonging initiatives, while also driving the recruitment and retention of diverse talent. She also leads Highwire’s Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DIBs) Council, which is a resource for ongoing education, allyship, accountability, and employee engagement.
Anderson brings more than 20 years of experience in strategic communications and community engagement roles. She currently serves as an adjunct ethnic studies professor at Laney College in Oakland.
Longtime writer and editor Dylan Tweney has been named Highwire’s editor in chief, as which he is focused on generating content and communications strategies for clients. Tweney’s experience includes working for national media such as Wired and VentureBeat, as well producing content and overseeing content strategies for tech companies.
Additionally, Misty Holbert has joined Highwire as its newest VP. She will be working with clients on business strategy and media campaigns, while also developing and implementing media and stakeholder relations programs. She was previously the communications lead for Booz Allen Hamilton’s strategic innovation group.
Highwire’s investment in talent follows substantial growth in 2020, during which digital revenue rose 100% and overall revenue rose 24%. Bespoken Spirits, Hitachi ABB, Qualtrics and Omada Health are among the new clients that fueled that growth.
