WASHINGTON — SKDKnickerbocker vice chair and managing director Hilary Rosen will be leaving the firm after nearly a dozen years there.
Rosen will be leaving SKDK at the end of March, she wrote in a Monday memo to staff.
“Now is the right time. I am excited for this next stage and plan to take on some new projects, continuing my role as a CNN commentator and having more time for family and travel,” Rosen wrote.
“Together we have built something unique in this firm. It’s been a team effort. Our success — especially in these last two years, in the most extraordinary circumstances — makes me certain that this company has the talent and the commitment to continue to grow and improve long after I am gone," she said.
Rosen has spent more than three decades working in Washington, where she is a well known Democratic strategist and serves as a CNN political commentator.
At SKDK, she has focused on developing and managing large-scale public affairs, issue advocacy and reputation management initiatives for clients, as well as crisis communications.
During the 2020 presidential election, she spearheaded efforts such as the #WeHaveHerBack campaign in support of Kamala Harris. In 2018, Rosen co-founded the Times Up Legal Defense Fund to assist survivors of workplace sexual assault and harassment.
Before SKDK, Rosen was chairman and CEO of the Recording Industry Association of America.
“I will have more to say in the coming months about some of the lessons I have learned as we built SKDK,” she wrote. “Our business relies on our creativity, integrity and our willingness to take risks for the right reasons. I’ve loved working with good leaders to execute on their goals and values in a way that makes their organizations and our society better. I’ve even loved that a late crisis call on a Friday sometimes meant a weekend of learning something totally new and interesting in order to be of service. In short, this is a career I’ve loved and the one you are lucky to have now. Enjoy it. I am handing it off to you to soar, and I couldn't be prouder of you all. “
