NEW YORK—Hill+Knowlton Strategies has named Antonio Tamayo president and chief executive of its Latin America region. Tamayo, who has served as president of H+K Mexico for 17 years and led some of the firm’s most important client accounts in the region, will report to H+K global chairman Jack Martin.

He assumes the role previously held by Luis de la Calle, a former official with the Mexican government, who will now serve as senior advisor for H+K Latin America.

Tamayo has expertise in corporate communication, particularly in crisis management, and in advising healthcare and pharmaceutical companies. He has provided counsel to clients including Pfizer, Nestlé and the International Diabetes Federation. Tamayo is also the Procter & Gamble client lead for Latin America.

He previously served in executive roles with Sidektur and Camino Real/Westin Hotels.
